ADMISSIONS POLICY
Level 1, d-tools/Hybrid Training & Level 2
For admission into Hybrid
Technical College, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Applicants must have previously obtained a minimum of Grade 12
mathematics and/or physics or GED. Proof of education is required. Applicants
without Grade 12 math and/or physics may still be admitted into the programs
only with the approval of the Academic Director and only after completing and
certifying an Admissions Waiver.
2. Applicants must also complete and submit a Student Admission Information form. On this application the
applicant must indicate all personal data as well as education objectives,
educational history, employment history, and any pertinent skills/hobbies.
3. Applicants must complete, read, and certify that they have read a
copy of the school’s policies and procedures, any updates and inserts and the
enrollment and registration agreement. Any applicants under 18 years of age
must have their parent or legal guardian co-sign all education enrollment
documents. Applicants must provide the school with a copy of their birth
certificate or Driver’s License to be accepted into the course of study.
4. A minimum 35% nonrefundable tuition deposit is due and payable
upon enrollment. Tuition balances are due and payable as required by the
designated deadline for any given term, as set by the College. All cheques are
to be made payable to H.C.I. (Hybrid College International). In situations
where the amount payable exceeds $1000 no personal cheques will be accepted;
the applicant will be required to obtain a bank draft or cashier’s cheque. All
monies are payable by 12:00 pm (noon) of the date they are due. All late
payments will be subjected to a $50/day late fee.
5. Hybrid reserves the right to modify course curriculum for the
purpose of improvement and technology upgrade in accordance with industry
requirements and or its own discretion without notice. Moreover, any curriculum
modification by Hybrid may affect the duration and hence the start or end date
of the Program. The College also reserves the right to change the Program start
date due to extenuating circumstances with the scheduling of the Program.
ADMISSIONS POLICY
Level 3
A personal interview with the school admissions officer and/or academic director is necessary prior to acceptance. For admission into Hybrid Technical College, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Applicants must have previously obtained a minimum of Grade 12

3. Applicants must pay a $100 nonrefundable fee for entrance
examinations. This fee is payable only by cash and/or money order; no personal
cheques will be accepted as payment of this fee.
4. Applicants must satisfactorily complete all Hybrid entrance
examinations, including the Hybrid
Mathematics Assessment, the Personnel
Test, and an entrance questionnaire. This series is designed to evaluate an
applicant’s suitability for enrollment. All testing results will be reviewed
with the applicant.
5. Applicants must complete, read, and certify that they have read a

Dispute Resolution Policy for Hybrid Technical
College of A/V Electronics
1. The Dean of Operations and Training is in charge of reviewing any
complaint advanced by a student or any potential applicant.
2. The complainant is required to submit in writing, within seven
days of the occurrence of the incident resulting in the dispute, a request for
a formal inquiry into the matter.
3. Upon receiving the student or applicant’s written request, the
Dean will solicit from other parties involved in the dispute written
submissions for consideration.
4. After completing his
investigation, the Dean will provide a written decision, outlining the
justification for the decision, to all the parties involved in the dispute.
Tuition Refund Policy for Hybrid Technical College of A/V Electronics
Refunds in the Cases of Withdrawal or Dismissal:
1. Written notice must be provided
by:
a) student to the College when the student withdraws, or
b) the College to the student in the case of dismissal.
If total fees have not yet been collected, the College is not
responsible for refunding more than that which has been collected to the date
of withdrawal/dismissal.
2. Refunds before the program of
study starts:
a) If written notice of withdrawal is received by the College after
the applicant has made a verbal commitment or a contract is made and prior to
thirty days before the start of the program of study, the College may retain
35% of the total fees due under the contract. If this amount had not been paid
to the College at the time of withdrawal or dismissal, the student will then be
required to pay this sum to the College.
b) If written notice of withdrawal is received by the College within
thirty calendar days prior to the start of the program of study, the College
may retain 50% of the total fees due under the contract. If this amount had not
been paid to the College at the time of withdrawal or dismissal, the student
will then be required to pay this sum to the College.
3. Refunds after the program of
study starts:
a) There will be no refund after the start of the
program of study.
Please note: Refunds owing to the student shall be dispersed thirty
business days after the date of the withdrawal/dismissal. However, if the
withdrawal/dismissal takes place prior to the start date of the program of
study, the refund shall be dispersed thirty business days after the start of
the program of study.
Student Dismissal Policy & Procedures for Hybrid Technical College of A/V Electronics
1. a) If a student is behaving inappropriately, he or she will be
given three warnings that his or her behavior must be modified. If after three warnings the misbehavior is
unchanged, the student may be expelled. Inappropriate behavior is defined as follows:
• abusive or condescending language towards the instructor, staff
or other students
• violent threats towards the instructor, staff or other students
• threatening the safety of the instructor, staff or other
students
b) If the Dean judges the behavior to be excessively inappropriate
he may enact an immediate expulsion.
2. If a student is found to be guilty of theft or vandalism of school
property, he or she may be expelled immediately.
3. If a student is found to be guilty of cheating on examinations or class
work he or she may be expelled immediately.
4. If a student is absent from class more than once, or is absent
without a legitimate excuse and without giving the instructor prior
notification of the impending absence, he or she may be expelled. Examples of a legitimate excuse may include
illness, medical appointments, a death in the family, or a court appearance.
5. Each student must maintain a cumulative grade above 70% in every
program he or she attends, or he or she may be excused from continuing in his or
her program of study.
